While former Illinois Governor Rod Blagojevich is currently on trial in federal court in Chicago on corruption charges, The State Journal-Register newspaper in Springfield has made nine of his profanity-laced tirades available to be downloaded as ringtones. The sound clips came from secret FBI wiretaps of Blagojevich that were played at his trial, and that were initially posted online by federal prosecutors. Of the nine clips, the three most popular have been:
- "I've got this thing and it's [expletive] golden. And I'm just not giving it up for [expletive] nothing." -- Said about the fact that he'd be be appointing the person to fill Barack Obama's U.S. Senate seat after he was elected president.
- "I'm stuck in this [expletive] job as governor now."
- "Only 13 percent of you all out there think I'm doing a good job. So [expletive] all of you."
