Meet Ingrid Ramírez…
Born and raised in San Juan, Puerto Rico.
Graduated from Universidad de Puerto Rico with a Bachelor in Theatre.
Worked as an actress for a few years, primarily in community plays.
Founded Proyecto Sonrisa (Smile Project) which provided theater workshops for the elderly.
Theatre led her to travel throughout Latin America and to hold secondary acting roles in movies. The roles helped her develop as a writer.
Obtained her certification as screenwriter for movies and television from Universidad del Sagrado Corazón and then her Masters in cinema screenwriting from Universidad Internacional Audiovisual Menéndez Pelayo in Valencia, Spain.
She, then, returned to Puerto Rico. Upon her return, she wrote comedies for Channel 4-Wapa América and Channel 6- PBS in Puerto Rico.
Before moving to her new home, she:
Worked as an independent writer and screenwriter for Puerto Rican television.
Two years ago, she moved to Bloomington-Normal, Illinois where she works for State Farm as a Production Writer for the Creative Services Department.
